FAQ

1. Do I need to sign up?

  • No. AndLink works entirely inside your local network. Start the service on the phone, then enter the connect code shown on the phone home screen in the desktop client or browser.

2. Which devices are supported?

  • Phone: Android 8.0 or later.
  • Desktop client: macOS 12+, Windows 8+, mainstream Linux distributions.
  • Web console: any modern browser, no install needed.

3. Does it use mobile data?

  • No. Files, messages and mirrored frames travel over your local network only — nothing touches the cloud.

4. Where is the connect code, and can I change it?

  • It is shown on the phone home screen. Use the copy button to copy it or the edit button to change it. Both the desktop client and the web console ask for it, so connections must be re-verified after a change.

5. Can several phones be connected at once?

  • Yes. The desktop client keeps multiple phones connected, marks the active one as in use, and lets you switch or disconnect from the device entry.

6. What content can be shared?

  • The whole phone storage by default; adjust the scope under “Shared content” on the phone home screen.
  • After granting full storage access, public folders such as DCIM and Pictures become browsable.
  • The Photos, Videos and Audio tabs scan the phone and show matching media as thumbnail grids.

7. Why does the phone service stop in the background?

  • Turn on Background keep-alive on the phone home screen (disables battery optimisation) and allow auto-start in system settings.
  • You can also enable “Start service automatically” in the phone app settings.
